YOTA Masters 100th Post!!!!

To celebrate the 100th post for the YOTA Masters Swimblog, I want to post 2 different links that we can all learn a lot from.

The first link is from ESPN.com and an episode of "Sports Science". They took a look at World Class Breaststroker Rebecca Soni's stroke and analyzed it with precision and lots and lots of expensive equipment. Most of the video is a look into why and how Rebecca can out perform her opponents... that, along with what makes a great Breaststroker.

The next link is something I strolled across this afternoon on somebody's Facebook wall. A short video about Master Swimming and why some choose to wake up at 5:30am and swim. Perhaps a good marketing/motivating tool for prospective YOTA Masters swimmers!?

From the looks of it, it looks like it is quite cold the morning they filmed (perhaps low 40s to high 30s outside)... I'm sure, based on all the steam, that the water is around 80 though. Just a side thought... Check out the video.

As a swimmer, in my final years, I know how hard it could be to climb out of bed early in the morning, ESPECIALLY in the dark COLD winter months. I would be lying if I didn't tell you, that the only reason I got out of bed in the morning to go swim a 7000 meter Long Course IM workout was so I didn't get in trouble and have to make it up on my ONE free afternoon off (Wednesdays... the most glorious day of the week when I was at NCSU!).

Everyone has to find their own motivations. Whether it be a physical goal or simply to keep your promise/word you made to a friend or teammate, we all have to find our motivation and what makes OURSELVES click the best!
