Monday - 9/26/11 - Workout

Before I write out today's workout, I want to give a quick reminder of our upcoming meet - Saturday, November 12th 2011 at the UNC Koury Natatorium. (Info can be found on the YOTA Masters main webpage)

If you are on the fence about this one, there are several reasons you should sign up:

1). It gives you a goal/motivation. Swimming goals do not always have to be numerical. This meet can serve as a number of goals, let one goal be to just show up and swim. This will also help motivate you to come to practice more often as well.

2). The meet can serve as a gauge. We often base our improvements off of practice intervals. Swimming in a meet will allow us to gauge our improvements based off of performance times at meets.

3). Camaraderie. At the Fall Brawl you will find that the majority of participants are there for fun, not critiquing. WE are our biggest critic. Don't worry about being embarrassed or not performing well, everyone at Fall Brawl cheers everyone on! It's a community atmosphere. I guarantee you will not fail yourself.

4). Finally, this year the 2012 US Masters Spring Nationals are being hosted in Greensboro, NC! Over 1800 swimmers entered last year's meet including nearly 30 from NC. This upcoming Nationals in Greensboro, expect 3x as many Masters swimmers from NC to enter the meet, made up of all ages and abilities! Nobody is too fast or too slow to swim. Start the season off at Fall Brawl with the plan to end it at the big one in G'Boro!
